Sedona Port is a synth / pop / rock band, started in Spring 2021. The band consists of Patrik Pistol and Jamie Wiltshire, and the music could be described as a modern variant of bands like U2, Depeche Mode, Hurts or Coldplay. Or what do you think?

Widescreen, emotional songwriting meets the warmth of legendary analog synthesizers and the punch of modern production: rock guitars and synth basslines in the same room, written and produced in Stockholm, sung in Cambridge, and made entirely by human hands.

The name

Why “Sedona Port”?

There is actually a little story behind the name. Long ago, Patrik went on a long summer road trip through the USA. In the small town of Sedona, Arizona (which, by the way, is probably one of the most beautiful places in the world), he took a helicopter ride over the magnificent mountains in the area. Up there, the pilot started talking about “The Sedona Port”: apparently a portal that aliens use to visit the earth.

Unfortunately, Patrik never saw the portal. But he thought “Sedona Port” sounded cool, so the project simply had to be called that. 😉 And it captures exactly what the music aims for: a doorway to another dimension.

The craft

No AI in the music

Sedona Port has one rule that never bends: the music itself is never made by AI. If anything, we go the opposite way. We build our own synthesizers from the ground up, and we develop new editors and software for vintage synths so these legendary instruments keep working in a modern studio.

We do embrace AI, but only for everything around the art: the day-to-day, the tooling, the workflow. The music, the lyrics and the design are always created by humans. That line is exactly what keeps the soul in every release.

Patrik Pistol

Patrik Pistol (yes, it is his real name: an old knight’s name from the 1600s) is a Swedish designer, producer and songwriter based in Stockholm. He writes and produces music for different artists, TV shows, computer games, movies and commercials.

He has produced and written for artists like Dr. Alban, The Central Bank, CPU Suckers, HVH74 and Suezia, and has worked with Alexander Bard on several projects, for example Alcazar, Drömhus and Acke. In Sedona Port he writes the songs, produces the records and runs the synths and computers, including the instruments he builds himself.

Singer

Jamie Wiltshire

Jamie Wiltshire is the voice of Sedona Port. He works professionally as a singer in Cambridge, UK, and is also a member of the two bands Standing Like Statues and Dear Monday.

Recording between Stockholm and Cambridge, Jamie brings a soaring, emotive delivery to every Sedona Port release, from the debut single “Let The Fire Burn” through “Run With Me”, “Such a Shame” and beyond. His voice is the human heart in the middle of all the analog machinery.
